60 of The Best Inspiring Teacher Quotes

Below is a collection of inspirational teacher quotes that I have nurtured over the past few days. These are nuggets of wisdom that came out of the mouths of eminent personalities whose thoughts, ideas, actions, and activism shaped the world as we know it today. I’ve spent many hours researching, organizing, and selecting what I believe are some of the best inspirational quotes for teachers, educators, and students. Admittedly, the choice is subjective and there are certainly many other quotes that could have been included. However, due to space limitations and to make the list more practical, I limited it to 60 quotes.

While working on this list, I came across many great teacher quotes that were authored anonymously, and I left out these quotes. Citations are shown only from verified sources and cited on authoritative authority sites. As you can see in the list of sources at the bottom of this post, I’ve drawn on three major websites and a book.

As for websites, there’s Edutopia teacher quotes from Pinterest which features a growing collection of inspirational teacher quotes. What I love most about the Edutopia collection is the fact that most of the quotes included are quotes from my fellow teachers and educators. I’ve also relied on Brainy Quotes and AZ Quotes, two of the most popular online quotes sources. I’ve avoided Wikiquote simply because the sources there are open to anyone to edit. As for the book, I used John Blades Educators’ Quotes Book.

In compiling this summary of inspirational teacher quotes, and although the list is disproportionately dominated by quotes from individuals of English and/or American descent, I have done my best to include quotes from notable people from different countries and different cultural, ethnic, social, and backgrounds linguistic. Wisdom has no geographic or cultural constraints and certainly not restricted to a particular race or biological system, wisdom is the cumulative work of all mankind.

I have prepared this list in recognition of the wonderful work that teachers do on a daily basis and for the sacrifices they make to build an informed and informed global citizenship, my chosen teacher quotes cover various thematic areas related to success, inspiration, motivation, perseverance, learning, teaching and more.

I invite you to check out this collection of inspirational teacher quotes and use the social media profiles of EdTech and mLearning to share the best teacher quotes.
